May kindness be in every word we say
Whether we are young or old may we always have
A Heart of Gold

How It Works

Each month includes:

These projects are designed to get little hands moving and creating so that their imagination can come to life. Each month we will provide instructions on how to create a fun craft that may involve coloring, painting, upcycling, and much more! These projects are also meant to be shared! Whether creating it with a friend or turning it into a gift, our projects will encourage friendship and generosity.

Our tasty monthly recipe is designed to spark the five senses as the child creates something delicious:

  • SEE the recipe and ingredients while learning about following instructions,
  • TOUCH and feel the ingredients as they pour and stir up something yummy,
  • SMELL the wonderful scent of sugar, spice, and everything nice,
  • HEAR the timer buzz as they feel the joy of accomplishing a recipe,
  • TASTE and enjoy the creation they have just made!

A call to action to discover new ways to be generous, kind, and excited about giving back. We have created simple and fun challenges for any child to accomplish and pay it forward.

With our free activities, children are able to print multiple copies so they can share the joy of fun and learning without limitation. With our printables, there will be no such thing as being bored!

The free printable journal page is designed to chronicle your child’s experiences in the Heart of Gold Club. Be sure to save your journal pages to look back and see the growth, creativity, and lessons learned throughout the year.

Snowman Snowglobe

Merry Christmas, Heart of Gold Club Friends! It’s time to get into the holiday spirit and get crafty. This month we are going to show you how to make your very own snowglobe! Watch beautiful snowflakes swirl around your globe and while you are at it, make a Christmas wish. Whether you live in the snowy streets of Maine or the sunny beaches of California- your snowglobe will be a little piece of winter you can keep with you always.

  • 1 – 8oz. Mason jar with lid and seal
  • 1 – Snowman figurine
  • Snowflake stickers (optional)
  • Crystal glitter
  • 10” decorative trim or ribbon
  • Tacky glue
  • Plumbers glue
  • Water
  • Glycerin (optional)

Glue snowman figurine to underside of seal with a good Plumbers glue or Aquarium glue. These types of glues should hold up real well in water. Let glue completely dry.

Add about a Tablespoon of crystal glitter to your Mason jar.

Add water to your jar leaving a little breathing space to jar. This is optional, but you can add about 5 drops few of glycerin to your water. This helps with the flow of the glitter.

Place glued snowman seal and lid into Mason jar. Twist lid for a tight fit.

Glue decorative trim or ribbon around your jar lid.

Decorate Mason jar with Snow flake stickers.

Christmas Tree Cupcakes

Ho Ho Ho! This month’s recipe from The Golden Goose Kitchen is definitely something Santa would be proud of. Put on you favorite apron and let’s make some Chrismas Tree Cupcakes!

  • 6 waffle or sugar ice cream cones
  • 3 cups vanilla frosting
  • 2 tbsp green food coloring
  • 6 chocolate or vanilla cupcakes
  • Sweets and sprinkles for decorating!

Slather a small portion of the frosting on the cupcakes to create a base atop which to position the sugar cone tree.

Stir the food coloring into the remaining frosting, adding more food coloring as necessary to achieve your desired green color.

Apply a layer of frosting on the exteriors of the sugar cones. To create a realistic look, transfer the remaining frosting to a pastry bag fitted with the star-shaped pastry tip.

Next, add your desired amount of sweets and sprinkles to the frosting to decorate your Christmas trees just the way you like. Lastly, place the trees on top of the cupcakes and enjoy!

Golden Goose’s Suggestions

Slice the tops of the cupcakes off to create a flat surface before adding the ice cream cones.

If you don’t want to make your own frosting, three cups of frosting is equivalent to two 16-ounce cans of store-bought frosting.
